Our Story

A Legacy of Family, Flavor, and Community Since 1986

Since its inception on June 1, 1986, Jessica’s has not just been a restaurant; it's been a heartwarming tale woven into the fabric of the Roscoe community. Founded with love and passion by Jack and Betty Rushiti, Jessica's quickly became more than just a dining spot – it became a gathering place for friends, family, and neighbors.

The Rushiti family's dedication to quality and community spirit was the cornerstone of Jessica’s until 2011, when they passed the torch as they embarked on a new chapter in Texas. It was then that the story took a new turn, with the Mixha family, a nephew of the founders, stepping in to carry on the legacy. For the Mixhas, this was more than just taking over a business; it was a homecoming. One of their first jobs upon arriving in the United States was as a busboy right here at Jessica’s, making this transition a meaningful full-circle moment.

Under the Mixha's stewardship, Jessica’s has continued to flourish. We pride ourselves on being a vibrant workplace that champions the American dream, employing a dedicated team of hardworking individuals. Our staff, many of whom have been with us for nearly a decade, are the backbone of Jessica’s, bringing their passion and expertise to every dish served and every customer greeted.

Our commitment extends beyond the walls of Jessica’s. We're not just in the business of serving food; we're in the business of creating experiences. Each meal is prepared with the freshest local ingredients, ensuring that we provide the finest dining experience in the Roscoe and Greater Rockford area.

We are deeply grateful for your unwavering support over the years. It's your patronage and feedback that drive us to continuously improve and strive for excellence. Here's to many more years of shared memories, delightful meals, and being a part of this wonderful community.

Our Founders:

Jack and Betty Rushiti

Jack and Betty were two of the most wonderful people you could ever meet with a passion for great food and an ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face. After moving to Texas in 2011 and helping found a new and popular breakfast chain in the Dallas area, Starwood Cafe, they both retired. Jack passed away in 2018 and Betty followed him to heaven in 2019.

So who’s Jessica?

Jessica is the daughter of our founders Jack and Betty. When Jessica’s opened in 1986, Jack and Betty decided to name the restaurant after their beloved daughter. She joined the family in moving to Texas, and Jessica and her husband currently own Birdie’s Breakfast Club in Frisco, Texas. While Jessica is no longer a part of the restaurant, she is our cousin, and this restaurant is still in the same extended family. Out of tradition, we will always be Jessica’s.
